Crystal first came across my work on Instagram…and as it turned out, I already knew her fiance Mathew from many years ago when we collaborated on a film project together!  So, it was a small world moment for them when Mathew saw that she was checking out my work on IG.

We met for coffee a few weeks later and hit it off, so I was super happy when Crystal and Mathew decided to hire me for their wedding photography!  We planned a spring engagement session during the beautiful magnolia blossoms and it was just PERFECTION.  Even the wind was perfect…I mean, come on, look at how beautifully windswept Crystal’s hair is in some of these photographs!

So much fun 🙂 I cannot wait for this gorgeous couple’s wedding day!

Ceri and Ryan wanted their winter engagement session to start in a place very special to them – Princess Cafe in Waterloo!  This charming cafe is no stranger to requests from couples for engagement photos at their location, since so many couples have had their first dates there!

After the fun candid moments at Princess Cafe, we proceeded to Victoria Park in Kitchener for some lovely outdoor winter photos.

I loveee these fun candid photos of Ceri and Ryan and can’t wait for their wedding day in winter of 2020 at Langdon Hall and The Cambridge Mill!

Beautiful Guelph Winter Engagement | Briana + Jaana

Briana & Jaana's Engagement

Beautiful Guelph Winter Engagement

Jaana and I go WAY back – back to 2007 when we both worked at the same plant nursery in the GTA!  So when I received an email from her fiancee Briana about their engagement and upcoming wedding, I was super happy that our paths were about to cross once again!  I had always remembered her as a funny, kind person who was fun to be around and to work with.

Briana and Jaana are out west, so we had a great conversation via video conference and arranged our engagement session to take place in Guelph when they would be back for a visit!  It was a VERY cold day but these women were troopers…plus, the chilly breeze was a great reason to cuddle harder!

Our engagement session started at the Covered Bridge and nearby river in Guelph, followed by a stop at the University of Guelph Arboretum!  I had a goofy smile on my face the entire time I was editing these photos – I LOVE them! And I can’t wait for Briana and Jaana’s wedding day this coming summer at Rebel Creek Golf Club!

Meaghan and Ryan’s wedding will be taking place in the summer of 2020 – but they were eager to capture their engagement session this winter!  We had to reschedule a few times because winter weather is often fickle!  Thankfully our schedules lined up – and just in time for a fresh snowfall!

We captured these gorgeous engagement photos at Shade’s Mill Conservation Area in Cambridge, Ontario! Send me a message and let’s chat about capturing some beautiful engagement photos for you!

I’ve always loved the variety of amazing locations and venues in Toronto – there is truly EVERYTHING to work with!

Sandra and Denis are an incredible couple – so kind and affectionate with one another.  Our engagement session took place in the spring on the waterfront at Trillium Park.  This was perhaps THE WINDIEST day I have ever encountered as a storm had just passed through and the wind was at its peak.  You would have never known it because we captured gorgeous photos of these two love birds, including lots of fun candids!

Sandra and Denis’s wedding also took place in Toronto and the GTA.  I love that they included a blend of traditional Serbian wedding elements (like bartering for the bride! haha!) on their big day.

With Serbian weddings, the day starts early, and the rakija (brandy) often begins flowing at the crack of dawn!  We started with preparation photos of both Sandra and Denis at their respective locations, followed by Denis and his family meeting with the bride and her family at their location.  Once a “price” for the bride has been settled upon, the bride exits her home and joins the groom and his family for dancing and celebration, as well as an incredible breakfast with their guests.

We then proceeded to Casa Loma for their ceremony and photography – this is truly an exquisite venue.  Their ceremony took place in the stunning beautifully-lit conservatory, with photography afterwards behind the historic building.

Sandra and Denis’s reception was an absolute blast with lots of traditional music and dancing (kolo), and took place at the Mississauga Grand Banquet Hall.

I had an incredible time with this gorgeous couple.  We captured so many beautiful, elegant photos – and of course, plenty of candids as well!  I wish these two nothing but the best and can’t wait to see them again!

My husband and I hired Ema for our engagement and wedding photos and we couldn’t be happier. From the moment we met Ema we felt so comfortable with her. This was important to us when choosing a photographer. Throughout the process Ema was very responsive, informative and accommodating to our requests. We had a very windy day for our engagement shoot and she managed make us feel at ease and take beautiful pictures on such a challenging day. For our wedding she was great with our friends and family and captured our special day perfectly. We have beautiful, timeless photos to look back on for years to come. Ema is a true professional and on top of that she’s funny and so down to earth! We highly recommend Ema.” – Sandra

Once in a while you’re lucky enough to meet and work with a couple who not only truly values photography, but are willing to go the distance when it comes to capturing images for their engagement and wedding…

Angelina and Brian were one such couple!  We first worked together on their engagement session which took place in Victoria Park and the Elora Gorge in the early spring.  The stairs down to the river were in deep shade, and as such they were covered in snow and ice – but that wasn’t going to stop Angelina, who was in heels!  We more or less rapelled down the stairs using the hand rail for support and made it down (and back up) unscathed – and captured some fantastic photos as a result!

Their beautiful wedding day took place in late October.  Though it was a cloudy, cold, and rainy day – their wedding was the perfect testament that even when the weather doesn’t completely work out, you can still have the most perfect wedding day ever!

We started the day by capturing both Angelina and Brian’s preparation, then their hilarious first look – where Angelina put a spin on things by donning a Darth Vadar mask as she approached Brian.  Myself and the videography team (Eksena Films) were stifling laughter as she surprised him!  We followed the first look with bride+groom and bridal party photography in nearby Victoria Park.  Though it was cold and rainy, we captured gorgeous (and often hilarious) photos!  I love all the photos of their candid laughter!

Following the photo shoot was the ceremony, family photos, and reception – so much fun!!

It was truly a great day and I cannot wait to work with these two love birds again.

Ema is FABULOUS.  I discovered her online and couldn’t be happier I did.  She is very responsive, down to earth and fun – from our first meeting we knew we’d get along great.  She’s also up for anything – even climbing icy stairs to get the greatest shots.  She worked so well with our other vendors the day of and it made for such an amazing experience.  We just got our photos back and can’t wait to get some printed.  We weren’t able to get all the shots I was hoping for because of the weather – looking through our photos I forgot all about that because the ones we got are so lovely. THANK YOU EMA!” – Angelina

Five years ago, I was signing up for a gym membership for the very first time in my life (!!!) and who would have thought that THAT would be how I would meet the lovely Irim!  Who would have thought that five years later I would be photographing her wedding to Tyler.

Irim and Tyler’s wedding took place in Elora, on Tyler’s family’s beautiful property.  We started the day with preparation photos of both the boys and girls – I LOVED Irim’s intricate and beautiful jewellery and dress!  Irim and Tyler’s emotional ceremony took place in front of his family’s home surrounded by family and friends.  We then headed to the historic West Montrose Covered Bridge nearby for family photos and bridal party photography.  This bridal party was HILARIOUS!  I was in stitches as we captured their antics.  So much fun!

Their reception took place in an amazing backyard tent, complete with beautiful lights and a gigantic bonfire as the sun set and the evening festivities progressed.

It was truly a perfect day and I am honoured to have spent it with this amazing couple and their family and friends!

Best wishes to you both!

My husband and I had an amazing time with Ema.  Leading up to the wedding day, Ema was very communicative about what was needed to ensure a smooth day of as well as very accommodating in the instances where some last minute change of plans needed to happen.  As well, she was very helpful in taking the time to explain how much time/what services would be needed for what I was looking for.  On the day, Ema was a blast!  She and my wedding party got along so well and made all our photos very relaxing and fun.  Our photos were beautiful and Ema made sure to capture all our personalities and the spirit of our wedding.  The photos themselves were STUNNING and we received them in a very timely manner.  I would highly recommend reaching out to Ema for any occasion (not just for a wedding) as our experience plus our photos were so much better than we could have expected.  Thank you Ema! <3 ” – Irim

I first met the lovely Bronte and Tyler last year when we sat down over coffee to discuss their upcoming wedding day.  They were such a sweet couple with a great sense of humour!

We booked their engagement session in the early spring, just in time for the STUNNING redbud blossoms at sunset – you can take a look at that gorgeous session here!  I loved working with them, and adored their photos – so naturally I couldn’t wait for their wedding day!

When the big day finally arrived, I spent the early afternoon with Bronte, her mum, and her bridesmaids (so much fun!).  Her stunning wedding dress was from Creme Couture in Guelph.  Once the girls were all ready, we proceeded to St. David’s Presbyterian Church in Milton/Campbelville.  Just a little heads up to my fellow photographers out there – this church has very strict rules for photographers – you must stay in one area and ONLY take photos during the entrances and exits of the bridal party…I did manage to get permission to take photos during the ring exchange and kiss as well, thank goodness!

After the lovely ceremony, we headed to the nearby Greystone Golf Club, set in the gorgeous valley near the escarpment.  On this beautiful yet chilly October day, the leaves were ablaze in full colour and we were treated to intermittent bursts of sunlight through the clouds.  Bronte and Tyler’s wedding party was absolutely hilarious, which made for some great candid photos!  I have to hand it to them – they were troopers in the cold wind on that day!

I am so honoured to have spent this lovely day with Bronte and Tyler, and I wish them nothing but the best!

“Absolutely loved working with Ema!  She was so sweet and amazing with my super dysfunctional bridal party and so much fun to work with.  She really captured every little detail and I love how the photos turned out ?.” – Bronte

Cutten Fields Wedding | Guelph Wedding Photographer | Amy + Jordan

Amy & Jordan's Wedding

< Back to Weddings

I first met Amy quite a few years ago during our time at the University of Guelph – she was always such a sweetheart.  Little did I know that years later, I would not only be photographing her wedding, but I would also be flying to Ireland for her and Jordan’s engagement session!  I was so grateful for this wonderful opportunity to do what I love abroad, in a completely new (and beautiful) environment.

Amy and Jordan’s wedding took place back in Guelph, at Cutten Fields near the University.  Cutten Fields is a beautiful wedding venue (probably my favourite of the golf courses in this region), with lovely sunset views overlooking downtown Guelph in the distance.

I met with Amy and Jordan at the nearby Delta Hotel for their preparation photos.  Their bridal party turned out to be absolutely hilarious – which of course makes for a lot of fun!  Their ceremony, behind the main building at Cutten Fields, was intimate and emotional.  We followed the ceremony with family photos at the ceremony location, followed by bridal party photos at the nearby University of Guelph Arboretum space.

As the sun began to set during their reception, we snuck out for a few more minutes of photography, and I am so glad that we did! It was a perfect evening with the golden sunshine filtering through.  We had a LOT of laughs as I’m sure you could tell with the photos that we captured.  I couldn’t help but don a huge smile on my face the entire time I was composing this gallery!

This was truly a perfect wedding for a perfect couple and I am so honoured to have spent quality time with them in Ireland and to have been their wedding day photographer.  Matt and I are looking forward to our next trip to Ireland (we’ve fallen in love with the country!) and our next visit with them!

Congratulations Amy and Jordan on your marriage and your beautiful wedding day!  Missing you!

“Ema is an amazing photographer!  We hired her for our wedding and the pictures turned out beautifully.  She has a perfect eye for catching natural emotion and moments.  She’s also hilarious which makes everyone she works with so much more comfortable.  We loved having her as part of our day and wouldn’t have dreamt to do it any other way.” – Amy
