Sandra & Denis's Engagement
Toronto Engagement Photoshoot | Trillium Park
Earlier this past summer I met with Sandra and Denis at the gorgeous Trillium Park on the Toronto waterfront for this lovely, albeit very windswept, engagement session! Looking forward to this beautiful couples’ wedding day at Casa Loma!
Alexandra & Brett's Wedding
New Year’s Eve Wedding Photography
Alexandra and Brett decided to do something a little bit different, and have not just a winter wedding, but a New Year’s Eve wedding!
This couple was not only SUPER fun, but also very brave…
The day of their wedding came, and the weather report was calling for -30C with the windchill. That didn’t stop them from meeting me in the Toronto park we had chosen for their wedding photos! Alexandra arrived looking stunning…wrapped up in a gigantic blanket, along with each her gorgeous bridesmaids each either donning a blanket or sleeping bag for warmth. Definitely not something you see every day – especially not at a wedding – and this lended itself to tons of laughs as we hustled to take the bridal party photos! Alexandra’s father was kind enough to assist us by holding everyone’s blanket or sleeping bag while their photos were being taken 🙂
After this very unique photoshoot experience, we headed off to their venue for the evening ceremony and very entertaining reception!
So much fun!
Amanda & Paul's Engagement
Sunset Engagement Session With Dogs
Amanda and Paul’s gorgeous sunset engagement session with their super cute dogs took place at the  University of Guelph Arboretum!  We had a great time with their pups and took advantage of the beautiful late spring sunset and remaining spring blossoms for this photo shoot.
Bronte & Tyler's Engagement
Spring Blossoms Engagement Session
Bronte and Tyler’s beautiful engagement session took place in the spring at the University of Guelph Arboretum! How gorgeous were these spring blossoms?! We were a bit too late for the apple blossoms, but we still managed to find a gorgeous Redbud stand and lilac bushes in the park. Ahhhhmazing!
Amy & Jordan's Engagement
Ireland Engagement Photography | Blarney Castle
Those who know me, know that I LOVE to travel. As a photographer, I am extremely lucky to be able to travel for work, and to also manage my own schedule such that I can explore the world and have a bit of adventure!
This was my first engagement photoshoot outside of Canada, and it was so much fun 🙂
Amy and I first met in University, originally when she was an undergraduate, and then also a vet student! She is one smart girl with a HUGE heart and a love for animals (which I can absolutely relate to). When she and Jordan became engaged, they came to me for their wedding photography! Their wedding is coming up around the corner and will take place in gorgeous Guelph – however when I asked them upon booking when they wanted to photograph their engagement, Amy paused… “Actually…we’re moving to Ireland for Jordan’s med school”. The gears in my brain began to turn, “How do you feel about me coming to Ireland for your engagement session?!” — and the rest is history!
My partner Matt and I blocked off a 2.5 week chunk of time in April and May; Instead of just flying there and back for the shoot, we decided to extend our stay and rented a car and Air BnBs to be able to explore the Emerald Isle!  And wow. We have ZERO regrets about our decision to do so!
We arrived at the end of April and started our trip in Dublin. After some sightseeing and a very fun pub crawl, we proceeded to Limerick to meet up with Amy and Jordan, and to photograph their engagement session which took place at Blarney Castle (where Jordan had proposed!). It was a SUPER rainy day – in true Irish fashion – and we were not quite sure if the storm would pass in time for us to take photos. Thankfully it did! We had so much fun exploring the beautiful grounds – I particularly loved the random daffodils in the field <3
Here are a few of my favourite photos from Amy and Jordan’s engagement session! I cannot wait for their wedding day!
Angelina & Brian's Engagement
Elora Gorge Engagement Photography
Angelina and Brian wanted to explore the beautiful Elora Gorge area near Elora Mill for their engagement session. Despite the snow and ice, they were game to trek down a treacherous set of stairs to get to the river (did I mention Angelina was in heels!?). Miraculously, we had zero incidents, and as a result captured some gorgeous (no pun intended) sunny photos by the river! I love when my couples have a sense of adventure!
Christy & Justin's Wedding
Algonquin Camp Arowhon Wedding
When I first met Christy and Justin, it was a rainy day in a Starbucks – where we sat for over an hour chatting and laughing!
I suppose what a lot of people don’t know – or don’t consider – is that when a wedding photographer sits down with a couple, the interview is in fact going both ways. The couple is deciding whether or not they’d like to work with you as a photographer – and as a photographer you’re deciding whether or not the couple is a good fit for you and your work. As a photographer, I’ve had the privilege of working with SO many amazing people and couples! I knew that Christy and Justin would be amazing to work with when we had so much in common and our meeting went much longer – and with even more laughter – than my meetings usually go!
During the summer, we had a beautiful engagement session where my suspicions that they would be amazing to work with were confirmed 🙂
Christy and Justin’s wedding took place in the fall at Camp Arowhon in Algonquin Park. This wedding was truly up my alley – as my love for the outdoors, camping, and photography were merged into one spectacular event! Their beautiful day started with a heart warming ceremony, followed by photography on the lake, a fantastic reception inside the main dining hall at the Camp, and then marshmallows roasted over a campfire!
So much fun!
“Ema was professional, and thorough during our first meeting, and made our engagement shoot enjoyable and easy! On the day of our wedding, she captured our memories beautifully (and stealthily at times!) She has a very good eye for lighting and angles, and we had a great time working with her! We feel lucky to have had such an awesome photographer, and now a friend! Would highly recommend!” – Christy
