Cathedral Church of St. James Engagement Photography Toronto

Racquel & Jacques' Engagement

Cathedral Church of St. James Engagement Photography Toronto

I was so happy when Racquel and Jacques first reached out to me.  Though our friend circles didn’t quite overlap, Racquel and I actually went to high school together!  She and Jacques observed me from afar as I photographed their friends Fallon and Lio‘s gorgeous Toronto wedding, and they liked what they saw so they reached out to me. It’s always neat when new clients approach me after having seen me and my team at work at weddings they’ve attended. It’s really a first interview of sorts!

Though their 2020 wedding plans were put on hold like most of my couples due to Covid, we had an amazing engagement session at the iconic Cathedral Church of St. James in Toronto.  This incredible church was built over three years starting in 1850, and has been a Toronto landmark ever since.

We had a wonderful time capturing these images, and I am now waiting patiently for Racquel and Jacques’ wedding in 2021!

EVO Kitchen Cambridge Wedding Photography | Karine + Brian

Karine & Brian's Wedding

EVO Kitchen Cambridge Wedding Photography

Karine and Brian were one of those couples who were just so incredibly lovely to work with.  We first met for their engagement session in Kitchener at Huron Natural Area, where we had a beautiful photoshoot amongst the fields and flowers. With their sense of humour and laid-back energy, I knew we would have a wonderful time at their wedding day!

Almost a full year later, their wedding day rolled around! We met during the early summer blossoms at their family property in Cambridge, where I began photography with Karine putting on her dress, followed by a touching first look with Brian in the spacious backyard.  We had a lovely photoshoot around the property, and across the road in a gorgeous field! It was then time for their ceremony, in (believe it or not) a highly polished and stylish garage building on the property.  We then proceeded to Cambridge, where we captured some gorgeous photos around the lovely limestone buildings and bridge in the downtown area, and inside EVO Kitchen, where their stylish reception took place.

Though the clouds threatened rain that day, we had a seamless photography experience and captured such beautiful photos! It was a lovely day and I am honoured to have spent it with Karine and Brian.

We absolutely loved Ema.  She is so friendly and fun and made us feel super comfortable for our engagement and wedding photos.  We really couldn’t have asked for a better person to capture our special day and we love our photos!  Thanks Ema!!!” – Karine

Port Stanley Sunset Beach Engagement Photography

Danielle & Cameron's Engagement

Port Stanley Sunset Beach Engagement Photography

Danielle and Cameron’s gorgeous engagement session took place near their lovely cottage property in charming Port Stanley! I was happy to travel to Port Stanley for these gorgeous photos – it’s always nice to work in a different environment. Beaches (and mountains!) are close to my heart, so I was excited to make the trip.

Danielle and Cameron have two energetic pups who loved running around the beach, gathering sticks and imploring Danielle and Cameron to throw them! It was so adorable and made for some cute photos.  We managed to get a few photos of the pups with their parents before they were off to other adventures.

It was a lovely evening and it was wonderful spending it with these two love birds! I’m looking forward to their wedding next year!

Toronto Wedding Photography Hotel Ocho Osgoode Hall | Aurie + Mitch

Aurie & Mitch's Wedding

Toronto Wedding Photography Hotel Ocho Osgoode Hall

I love when couples opt to do something a little bit different – be it a winter wedding or an intimate venue – or in the case of Aurie and Mitch’s wedding, both!

I also love when couples compliment their wedding with contrasting engagement photos.  Aurie and Mitch wanted a spring engagement session with ample flowers to contrast what would be their November wedding.  For their engagement photoshoot, we met at Western University for a beautiful shoot at their favourite locations – and LOTS of magnolia blossoms! It was stunning!

The months flew by and it was time for their beautiful wedding in what felt like no time! My associate photographer Avan and I met with Aurie and Mitch at Hotel Ocho in Toronto to photograph their preparation, followed by their first look photos.  We then proceeded to Osgoode Hall for gorgeous photos in the outdoor space outside of the historic building with their beautiful bridal party.  It was a COLD day, and I loved the hand made blue cloak Aurie had to keep warm!

After our photoshoot, it was back to Hotel Ocho for an intimate evening ceremony, followed by their lovely reception upstairs.

It was truly a perfect day for this lovely couple, and I am honoured to have been their photographer!

Langdon Hall Cambridge Mill Wedding Photography | Ceri + Ryan

Ceri & Ryan's Wedding

Langdon Hall Cambridge Mill Wedding Photography

It’s not that often that I have the pleasure of photographing a winter wedding. Most couples are drawn to summer and fall weddings, but a select few love the idea of a romantic, cozy, winter wedding. Ceri and Ryan were one of those couples!

These two love birds were just a dream to work with.  During their engagement shoot, they were all smiles and laughs! Their love and affection for one another was palpable, and made for a beautiful photoshoot.

When their wedding day finally approached, I was excited to spend the day with them! We started the day photographing their preparation, and met at the iconic Langdon Hall in Cambridge for their first look.  I put Ryan in a location where Ceri could approach him without being seen, and loved the emotional reveal! So wonderful. We then took care of bridal party and couples’ photography. It was a COLD day and we were happy to be able to have some respite from the -20 weather indoors as well, where we were able to capture some beautiful images!

After the photoshoot, we proceeded to Cambridge Mill for their stunning sunset ceremony (WOW!), followed by family photography and their cozy reception.

It was truly a memorable day and I am grateful to have been by Ceri and Ryan’s side to capture it!

Elora Mill Autumn Wedding Photography | Becca + Mike

Becca & Mike's Wedding

Elora Mill Autumn Wedding Photography | Becca + Mike

Becca and I go way back to 2008 or so, shortly after I picked up my first digital camera and began experimenting with studio lighting and portraiture. I had just discovered how fun it was to collaborate with models and our paths crossed when I had photographed one of her friends.  Lo and behold, the photos Becca and I created ended up in the hands of Gemini Models when she approached them about modelling.  They were so impressed with my work (aww!), that they began to hire me for various photoshoots and recommended me to other local businesses. It was truly serendipity, and my business was born!

Way back then, Becca had said that one day, when she gets married, I would be her photographer. In the meantime, we have worked together on countless photoshoots, runway shows, and of course her family/lifestyle sessions and headshots.

When she and Mike became engaged, I was excited to finally photograph her wedding – 12 years in the making!  They even based their date selection on my availability, which is truly humbling.

It was a chilly but beautiful and lush October day.  I met up with Becca at Elora Mill for her getting ready photos, while my secondary proceeded to photograph Mike at their home.  We then had a beautiful ceremony at the Foundry building, followed by family photography, and bridal party photography at the nearby Victoria Park.  We kept warm under shawls and blankets in between photos and captured some beautiful images before their gorgeous reception!

It was truly a wonderful day and I am incredibly honoured to have met Becca oh-so-long ago – and to have photographed her wedding!  I wish her and Mike the happiest journey in life together!

Venue – The Elora Mill
Videographer – Timothy Muza
Cupcakes, macarons, cake pops – Wellington Cakes
Jewelry (Becca and bridesmaid bracelets)  – Olive and Piper

Mike’s suit and the groomsmen ties – Channer’s

“Ema is an outstanding wedding photographer – the best!  She is also an awesome person which made hiring her for our wedding a no-brainer.  She arrived the morning of our wedding prepared and effortlessly was with us throughout the day capturing our moments from early morning into the evening.  She knows how to capture candid moments and delivers these moments in the highest of quality.  Wedding photos are memories to last a lifetime… hiring Ema was the easiest decision we made for our wedding day (so much that we changed the date so she could be there!).  Thank you Ema!!  We couldn’t be happier. – Becca

Distillery District Toronto Engagement Photography

Irene & Trevor's Engagement

Distillery District Toronto Engagement Photography

Irene was one of those clients that I immediately “clicked” with (camera pun unintended!), and I was so excited to meet her and Trevor in person for their engagement session at the historic Distillery District in Toronto.

We had a fabulous time wandering the brick walkways, captured some photos with the setting sun, and had lots of laughs along the way!  We even grabbed a burger and some beer and had a fantastic chat about life and business afterwards.

It’s always so lovely to connect with clients on more than just a ‘business’ level!  I was extra excited to photograph their gorgeous wedding day in Hamilton in a few months’ time!

Hamilton Wedding Photographer | Ancaster Mill | Irene + Trevor

Irene & Trevor's Wedding

Hamilton Wedding Photographer | Ancaster Mill

I was so excited to photograph Irene and Trevor’s wedding day! When Irene first reached out to me, we instantly “clicked” and I was so excited to meet her and Trevor for the first time at the Distillery District in Toronto for their engagement session. We had a wonderful time, and I knew we would have a great time on their wedding day!

It felt like forever and yet no time at all when their wedding day finally rolled around! Prior to their big day, my associate photographer Kasia and I spent a sunny day on campus at McMaster University scoping out a great location for their first look and photography. I loved that Irene wanted to play a trick on Trevor with their first look – so Kasia and I planned a strategic, almost espionage-esque way to get Trevor into position without him seeing his best man in a gigantic blow-up dinosaur costume coming to surprise him for the first look.  Trevor was definitely taken aback and we all had a great laugh (at his expense?), and it was finally time for Irene to truly greet him. We captured that special moment and proceeded with a ton of family and bridal party photography (only a small portion of which is shown in this gallery).

We then proceeded to iconic Ancaster Mill their gorgeous sunny ceremony inside the chapel, followed by family photography and a few more photos of Irene and Trevor by the Mill’s waterfall! With a steady hand, I captured a few stunning long-exposure images of Irene and Trevor next to the waterfall.

Kasia and I had an amazing time with these two love birds. Wishing Irene and Trevor a lifetime of love and laughs together!

“I came across Ema Wedding Co online and fell in love with her style of wedding photography…Ema was super prompt with responding to emails and questions that we felt confident to book Ema without meeting her in person. Not only was she professional, she was so friendly that we hit it off right away.

Ema made my husband and I feel super comfortable during our engagement shoot and we ended up enjoying ourselves and had a great time! The photos turned out amazing but we never imagined how much we would love our wedding photos. Ema and her assistant photographer Kasia were incredible to work with. They were with us for the full day and captured beautiful beautiful memories of us, our families and friends, that we will forever cherish.

Thank you both so much! We would not hesitate to refer Ema Wedding Co for any and all photography needs, especially for something as important as your wedding photos. My bestie who works in the wedding industry wisely told me when we were deciding on how much to spend on photos that you can skimp out on certain things but wedding photography is not one of them – you only get one chance to capture those special moments. Ema Wedding Co is worth the investment!” – Irene

Kitchener Waterloo Serbian Wedding Photography | Vanja + Mladen

Vanja & Mladen's Wedding

Kitchener Waterloo Serbian Wedding Photography

I was so excited to hear from Vanja when she and her fiancee Mladen first became engaged. Vanja was one of those clients with whom I could tell right away via e-mail that we would have a great time working together!

I loved that for their engagement session, they wanted something a bit darker/moodier photographed in Downtown Kitchener – I was happy to oblige!  We had tons of laughs as we strolled about downtown, and I love the images that we captured!

It was hard to believe when their wedding day rolled around – it always comes around so much faster than I expect.  It was a gorgeous sunny June day with beautiful spring apple blossoms.  We started the day photographing Vanja’s preparation with my secondary photographer David with Mladen at his home.  As is tradition with Serbian weddings, Mladen’s side then proceeded to come to Vanja’s side and “barter” for the bride (and old tradition that is now a showy and hilarious spectacle as the men “barter” and the bride’s side demands more and more).

The group celebrated when Vanja’s side accepted, and we were off to Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Milton for the ceremony, followed by photography in a GORGEOUS courtyard at Milton City Hall (WOW!), and finally the reception at St. George’s Banquet Hall in Waterloo.

It was truly an incredible day and I am honoured to have spent it with this incredible couple!

Guelph Bridal Photography | Arboretum

Olga & Leon's Wedding

Arboretum

This photoshoot is quite special, in that it is not an entire wedding day (like the other images in this portfolio).  This is because the lovely Olga contacted me to re-do her wedding photos that had been taken by another photographer 2 years ago, for her and Leon’s anniversary!  Olga did not love those original images as she felt they were too dark and didn’t quite match their home’s decor nor their personalities. She wanted something light and airy for these images, and with a beautiful sunset at the University of Guelph Arboretum – so that’s what we did!

It’s taken me a while to figure out where these images “fit” on this website, as they are not an engagement OR a wedding, and I’ve decided that this is the best spot!

I LOVE the images that we captured. The lilacs were in bloom, the weather was perfect, and the sunset was gorgeous. It was a perfect evening with these two love birds!!

We tried two wedding/family photographers before Ema. Our wedding photos and first anniversary photos did not turn out as we hoped, and the experience was not so great so we decided to try yet a new photographer for our second anniversary photos.
We looked through all the photographers that we could find on Google in Guelph/KW area.  Ema’s website stood out with its clean, nice design, and features. We liked the fact that the website allows you to view sample photos captured during photo sessions with past clients (not just a collection of the best photos from various weddings), which gives you a more realistic idea of how your photos may look like.
Working with Ema was the best experience we’ve had so far!  She is professional, friendly, and didn’t make us feel awkward at all. And, most importantly, the photos turned out absolutely amazing!
We highly recommend Ema for anyone who is looking for wedding/family photographer
!” – Olga
