Backyard Wedding | Kitchener Wedding Photographer

Nicole and Trevor celebrated their beautiful wedding day with a lively backyard wedding in Kitchener.  We had such a great time at their engagement session and I was truly looking forward to their wedding day!

We met at a gorgeous property in Kitchener, where Nicole arrived with her hair and make up complete, and only the final touches before the big reveal. Her mum helped her with her veil, then we were off to the first look with Trevor, who was waiting anxiously to see her.  Their emotional first look was followed by a super fun bridal party photoshoot!  Their bridal party was BIG and consisted of childhood friends they had known for many years. It was very sweet!

Following the bridal party photos, we headed off to the ceremony (more tears!), family photos, and sunset photos!

It was truly a magical day and I am so happy to have spent it with Nicole and Trevor and their closest family and friends!

Send me an email, and let’s chat about your wedding day! 🙂

Cambridge Wedding Photographer

Word of mouth is so key in this line of work and I am always honoured and grateful when clients of mine refer their loved ones to me for their wedding photography!  Kate and Justin were referred to me by Marissa and Ryan, whose wedding I had photographed at the very beginning of my career over a decade ago!

When I first met Kate and Justin in person at Justin’s family cottage for their incredible engagement photoshoot (featuring a drone and boat!), I knew we would have an amazing time at their wedding, too.

On the big day, my associate photographer Avan and I started the day at Langdon Hall in Cambridge for Kate and Justin’s preparation, followed by an emotional first look on the Langdon Hall grounds.  We then proceeded to the chapel at Doon Heritage Village for the ceremony (where Justin’s parents had been married a few decades prior!), and finally, off to the beautifully-decorated Tapestry Hall in Cambridge for their super fun reception!

Art Deco Wedding Toronto | Toronto Wedding Photographer

Krysten and I first met many years ago through our mutual work with The Gemini Agency, where she was signed as a model. We worked together on many photoshoots including a few bridal creatives, and if you’ve ever had a video call with me, you may recognize her from prints that are framed behind me on my office wall!

Krysten and Evan have a wonderful love story, and I was so excited to hear from her when Evan proposed and they were officially engaged! We had a great time at their engagement session and I couldn’t wait for their wedding day to finally arrive!

On their wedding day, we started the day at the iconic Westin Harbour Castle Hotel on the waterfront in Toronto for Krysten and Evan’s preparation and first look, and then proceeded through a busy day on the Toronto streets to the Osteria Rialto restaurant.  This art-deco inspired Italian restaurant is where we took care of Krysten and Evan’s urban wedding photos (including some favourites inside the beautifully decorated venue!).  Photos were followed by the ceremony, even more photos, and a lively reception!

I am in love with these images and hope you scroll through the entire gallery to see all of my favourites!

“Ema has been my trusted, go-to photographer for over 10 years. When it was time to book a photographer for my wedding, there was no question about who it would be! And as usual I was BLOWN AWAY by her work. She captured all the beautiful moments of our day and it was absolutely wonderful to relive everything through her photos. Plus, Ema happens to be an amazing person who is so fun to shoot with. I can’t recommend her enough for your special events!” – Krysten

Krysten and Evan’s beautiful engagement photoshoots took place at sunset in the University of Guelph Arboretum space!  Weather is always a wildcard when it comes to outdoor photoshoots, and we were forced to reschedule quite a few times before we finally landed on a perfect day for photos.  And WOW was it ever perfect!

I loved these photos and couldn’t wait to photograph Krysten and Evan’s Toronto wedding!

Ryan and Ryan (not a typo!) are a fun loving couple who wanted a beautiful sunset engagement session to commemorate their love! I’m a big fan of the University of Guelph Arboretum space and thought it would be the perfect location for their session.  It was a gorgeous evening and the overgrown queen anne’s lace was made for very magical photos!

Nicole and Trevor wanted a rustic sunset engagement photography session with a focus on fun candid photos, and I was happy to oblige! These photos were taken on a warm and sunny April evening at the University of Guelph Arboretum space (one of my favourite locations for photos!).  We stuck to the open fields at the park to capture these beautiful images. I loved Nicole and Trevor’s energy – it was easy to capture their love for one another!

Rebecca and Mark wanted to celebrate their engagement with photography in and around the charming town of Elora.  They loved the old stone buildings of the historic Elora Mill, and the beautiful Elora Gorge as well of course!  We met up for these fun engagement photos on a lovely autumn day, taking advantage of the beautiful fall colours in Victoria Park, the cute streets around Elora Mill, and the scenic gorge! I loved their easy going nature and Rebecca’s amazing laugh!

Toronto Wedding Photographer

I first met Sam and Laura at Sam’s sister Angelina’s wedding a few years ago! At her sister’s wedding, I remember she delivered a hilarious speech – so a few years later when I received an email from Sam about her upcoming wedding to Laura, I was over the moon!  We had a great time and lots of laughs photographing their engagement session at the University of Guelph Arboretum.  Unfortunately as has been the case for many weddings, Sam and Laura were forced to reschedule their day, so there was of course extra anticipation leading up to their wedding and we were so excited to get the green light!

On their wedding day, we started the day with some candid getting-ready photos at their Toronto condo, followed by an emotional first look on the breezy rooftop.  Sam didn’t hide her emotions seeing Laura in her wedding dress and I love the images that we captured.  We then proceeded to the historic Distillery District for their bridal party portraits.  It was a HOT September day so we stuck to the shade and had a great time!  I love the goofy candids in particular!

Finally, it was time for their ceremony and reception at Airship37 – a  wonderful venue by Berkeley Events! We are honoured to have had this wedding featured on their Berkeley Events Blog, as well!

It was a beautiful day spent with a beautiful couple!

If there’s one thing that rings true for humankind, it’s that we tend to be resourceful and adaptive.  While the last few years have been tough for most of us, in some ways it’s been an opportunity for many of our couples to have the small, intimate wedding that they wanted!  Kate and Chris wanted to get married more than anything else, and they didn’t want nor need a big wedding to seal the deal.  Just their children, and their closest family and friends. A perfect opportunity for a backyard elopement ceremony!

It was a lovely and uncharacteristically warm October evening when we met up in their adorably-decorated Cambridge backyard for their event! Kate’s sons walked her down the aisle for the very sweet ceremony officiated by Jeff Maeck.  After the kiss and signing, Kate and Chris and their guests enjoyed a champagne toast, followed by some very cute portraits in their front yard.

It was a lovely evening spent with a wonderful couple!

“Ema is amazing. Her photos – honestly – blew me away. She captured so much more than just the various moments of our wedding day. She captured the ESSENCE of our wedding day. You can feel the vibe through the photos, and that means the world to me. Thank you, Ema.” – Kate

When Aren first reached out to me for his wedding day photography, it was obvious that we’d have a great time working together based on his easy going and hilarious sense of humour!  Due to the pandemic, Aren and Ilse were forced to reschedule their wedding day a few times – so when their big day finally rolled around, I was extra excited!

My wonderful associate photographer Avan met up with Ilse and her family at their family farm, while I drove out to Drayton to start the day with Aren and his family, where their backyard wedding ceremony would take place.

Avan and I had such a great time with these two – so many laughs!
