Some weddings feel especially meaningful because of the history you share with the people standing in front of your camera. Sara and Joe’s wedding was very much one of those days. Sara and I met in late 2017 and became instant best friends, bonding over SO many things. Over the years, she and Joe became a huge part of my life. We travelled together, worked together, I photographed many branding sessions for their businesses, Sara’s book, and in January 2020 Sara and I even took an unforgettable adventure to Nicaragua.

I was even there when Joe proposed! Sara and Joe were in San Diego for a business conference, and we had gone to see the Goo Goo Dolls – Sara’s favourite band! Unbeknownst to her, Joe had brought a ring and had recruited me as his accomplice. My very important job was to carry the ring around in my purse all day without giving anything away! When the moment finally came, I discreetly handed Joe the ring while we were dancing, then grabbed my phone and filmed the proposal. It was one of those completely magical moments that I’ll never forget.

So when they finally tied the knot in spring 2026, being there to photograph their wedding felt incredibly special.

After a wonderfully long engagement, Sara and Joe finally celebrated their wedding surrounded by the people they love. After an emotional first look, we took some amazing photos at the orchard – which was in full bloom – at Honsberger Estate Winery in Jordan Station. Their gorgeous ceremony was followed by a fun cocktail hour and a lively reception!

While there weren’t official bridesmaids, Sara, me, and our closest group of friends took some beautiful photographs together in the orchard at surrounded by the gorgeous landscape of Ontario wine country.

After nearly a decade of friendship, countless adventures, business projects, and being trusted with everything from their branding photography to their engagement story, photographing their wedding felt like the perfect continuation of a relationship that has meant so much to me. I couldn’t have been happier to be there!
