Elora Mill Wedding Photography | Tyson + Gordon

LGBT Wedding Photography

Some weddings feel extra close to the heart, and Tyson and Gordon’s was definitely one of them. Tyson and I met well over a decade ago when he was modelling with a local agency, and we worked together on countless shoots over the years. Later, when he became an event coordinator at the iconic Elora Mill, I’d run into him often while photographing my couples there, which was always such a lovely full-circle moment. So when he and Gordon got engaged and chose me to document their wedding, I was incredibly honoured. With all the photographers Tyson has worked with throughout his career, the fact that he reached out to me meant the world!

We had an amazing engagement session, and their wedding day was just as joyful, meaningful, and downright fun.

Their wedding day began with quiet preparations at Cedarcliffe Estates, as Tyson and Gordon enjoyed the morning with their family and friends, and then helped one another get ready for the rest of the day. This was followed by emotional first looks with each of their moms. We then found our way to the river at Elora Gorge, where they shared private vows together (using their tried and true rock-paper-scissors method to decide who should go first!). The river was a perfect setting for these memorable moments. We proceeded to The Foundry building where we captured family photos, followed by their ceremony which was full of warmth, happy tears, and so much support. Did I mention their grandmothers were their flower girls!?

After the ceremony, we moved seamlessly into wedding party/friend photos both inside the Foundry and outdoors in the beautiful surroundings. Their groom-and-groom photo session was full of laughter, connection, and all the natural chemistry they share. Tyson and Gordon wanted to get a sneak peek of their reception decor and shared a private (and very sweet) first dance in their reception hall before enjoying cocktail hour with friends and family – and a gorgeous champagne tower. We ended the evening with a formal reception, a fun dance party, and some dreamy sunset portraits by on the river lookout that wrapped the day up perfectly.

The extra cherry on top was that Tyson and Gordon’s wedding and a few of their fave photos were also published Toronto Life’s Real Weddings feature! SO much fun!

It was a true privilege to document Tyson and Gordon’s love story from engagement to wedding day.

If you’re planning your own celebration and looking for a photographer who values connection, storytelling, and making the experience enjoyable from start to finish, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s create something beautiful together.
