Meredith & Dave's Wedding
Meredith and Dave’s lovely wedding took place at Meredith’s family’s lakeside cottage in beautiful Fenelon Falls.
Fenelon Falls is a bit of a drive from my home, and en route the clouds became darker and darker, until it finally began to rain…However I did not despair! When you’re in the business of wedding photography, you keep quite a close eye on the weather – and one thing that I’ve learned is that even the rainiest days tend to have breaks in the rain where we can take care of the important photos!
When I arrived, I immediately took care of the detail photos in their enormous tent, as well as their preparation photos. The skies cleared just long enough for us to have a wonderful first look – I absolutely love seeing couples see each other for the first time on their wedding day! It always puts such a big smile on my face (and sometimes a few tears too!). We weren’t sure when the rain would start again, so this was a great opportunity to take care of some of Meredith and Dave’s photos together. They insisted on being boat-ed out to a floating dock in the lake – despite the incredibly choppy water – for some of the photos. I LOVED their adventurous spirit and we all had a good laugh at the balancing skills required to stay dry on that dock!
As we wrapped our first look photos the rain began to fall again, and heavily, so the ceremony was moved to the reception tent. It was quite romantic with the string lights and rain pitter-pattering above us! As their emotional ceremony wrapped up, so did the rain, and we were able to capture some beautiful family photos and bridal party photos.
Meredith, Dave, and their family and friends were truly so much fun to work with! Their night was topped off by an amazing fireworks show, lots of delicious food, and much dancing and laughter. So much fun!
I can’t wait to see these two again!
Wishing you both nothing but the best!
